Toyota has been producing 4x4 vehicles since the early days of its company in the 1930s and ‘40s. One of its earliest off-road vehicles is the FJ40 Cruiser, which was recently revisited with the new FJ Cruiser. Toyota’s light-duty Tacoma truck and 4Runner SUV are popular among off-roaders, with the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) packages offering more off-road capable suspension systems. Toyota introduced its full-sized Tundra in the early 2000s, which was recently upgraded to feature a 5.7-liter i-FORCE V8 motor.
