Project Blazin' gets Passenger Area Carpet

Jan. 01, 1998 By ORC STAFF

I had stripped out all the old carpeting prior to Blazin being sprayed with Line-X. The original carpeting was in pretty rough shape and had holes wore through it in some of the heavily used area's. At that time I could also see there was some rust under this carpeting. I hoped that installing new carpeting would be unneccessary and that the Lining would be adequate. What I found is that with the top on the noise level inside Blazin was unacceptable with only that Line-X coating. With the top off it doesn't make any difference. Since Blazin is driven daily and has the top on 4 to 5 months of the year I decided front passenger area carpeting would be installed. The Line-X coating will prevent rust from begining under the carpeting.

I called up McCullough's Auto Products and had them send me molded carpeting in Charcoal Cut Pile. It arrived about 3 days lator at the cost of approximately $130 with shipping and tax. The carpet seems to be of excellent qualtiy and includes insulated padding on the underside just like the factory carpeting did.
