Joel writes: Here's my rig. It's a 1978 Wagoneer with the optional 401 engine. Notice the blub-blub-blub from the dual exhaust. Admire the old crankshaft that looked like sandpaper after the radiator hose was left off. Revel in just the right amount of vinyl fake wood on the sides, not too much, not too little. Enjoy the carburetor that leaks gas and breathes in more air through its bushings than the filter. Beware of the dual gas tanks that cost over $60 to fill at Arco, Ouch!

To be honest it's a fun machine except for the engine fire, leaky carb, rust and wandering accross the road. But I haven't given up, and in a new spurt of enthusiasm I'm going to get:

  • A new Edelbrock carburetor
  • A seal for the drivers door
  • REAL rear view mirrors
  • 2 more BF Goodrich tires
  • A travel size jar of Grey Poupon for tossing to luxury car drivers as I roll over their hood
