I love this info. You're right, it sure beats the hell out of rebuilding anything, which is what I am doing to mine right now. Let you know how it works for me when I am done.

Hi. Just started off road driving after testing my Ford Ranger Wildtrak Double cab which is my company vehicle (far too shiny.needed dirt on it). Bought my self an old Range Rover which had the rear shortened by 15 inches, a 2" lift kit, bigger wheel arches formed, diff, steering, fuel tank and sump guards etc. etc. Great vehicle but not good in water (been told V8 engines do not like swimming). thanks for all your info. especially the part about removing the spark plugs before restarting an engine that may have water in it... so simple. I could kick my self for not thinking of it my self. Best Regards. Simon.

about the spark plug clearing. I had a dodge that sucked water in when i lived in titusville, fl. we pulled the plugs as soon as we got the truck out of the water and everything sounded smooth turning over. upon reinserting the plugs and turning over with spark and fuel, the entire bottom end fell to pieces. moral of the story. if you go in deep and stall, dont turn it over until you are almost cetain all water has been cleared. apparently not a good lubricant. who knew right.
