Sir, I have a '83 CJ7 with original carbureted 4.2L engine, automatic. I really enjoy the jeep and try to take good care of it for sentimental reasons. Over the last year it would run great but all of a sudden would cut out and die unexpectedly (even at highway speed). I would coast to the side of the road and sometimes it would start up immediately or if not would let it set for a while and then it would start and run fine until the next episode possible days later. Our mechanic felt it was the pick-up coil and replaced the distributor with a rebuilt one because he said there was some additional issues with the distributor itself. But this did not cure the problem. Then it was felt the electronic ignition was the culprit and this was replaced. Again, this did not solve the problem. Most recently, I could not get the engine to restart after it died. It cranks fine but acts like it is flooding possibly because of no spark. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much, Jeffl

Hey Jeep Creep, I have allways loved Jeeps and have had a few Wranglers in the Past. My Question is My Grandfather gave me a '78 Wagoneer with a 401, It sat for about 7 years before I got to it. I put a new intake and carb on it and it runs great ( long story short) I need to replace the temp sending unit but can't find it, do you think you can help.
