The Rubicon, Willy?s Edition and other model TJ?s are starting to come with factory rocker guards. While four wheelers every where are commending Jeep for offering models with some of the basics you need to wheel, the factory rockers are only sufficient for light-medium duty use. If you?re really going to take a TJ into tough stuff, you?re going to need a stronger rocker with better coverage under the body. You have lots of options out there that fit the bill to this point. However, if you want a rocker with a bar to keep the rocks at bay, and you want a factory powder coating, your options start narrowing quick. Currie Enterprise?s Rock Ribz rocker guards are plenty capable of taking frequent and severe trips through rock gardens with ease. These rockers come with a bar to keep the rocks from chewing at your doors and act as a helpful step without affecting clearance. Currie?s Rock Ribz also come powder coated to help keep the rust at bay and keep the guard looking good for years to come.

Goodyear has created a name for themselves in the rockcrawling world with its MT tire over the years. The MT was super sticky, quiet, and had great side to side stability on rocks. However, the sidewalls were not known for there durability and how they wore. It had a decent lug thump as well when you pulled up to the stop signs. The Goodyear engineers set a goal to create a redesigned MT that could compeat up in today's extreme rockcrawling events and on the street. I am happy to tell you, they succeeded.

If you're in the market for a TJ roll cage, it's a good idea to take a few minutes and consider what you want it to do for you. Personally, I opted for a cage that didn't block any of the natural creature comforts of my TJ like the window cranks and heater vents. I also wanted a cage to be functional

Over the past few years Banks has earned a reputation in the truck world for making world class products. The Jeep market had been long awaiting a Banks Jeep product to hit the shelves for some time. The first of many to come is the Stinger cat-back system. The Stinger comes with everything a Jeeper could need to get a nice deep toned sound with a boost in power to boot!

 | Essential TJ Mods Aug 1, 2005 By:Alex Parker
While the TJ is known for being a great off the showroom floor wheeling rig, I think many will agree that there is always room for improvement. This being my 3rd TJ, Ive come to know all too well what parts will be first to bust, bend, grenade, dent, or plainly leave you stranded and walking home. I didnt want to lift my 05 Rubicon till I had at least made the first payment, however, I did want to protect my investment from what was going to be a hard life in the rocks. There were a few items I decided were must haves before I took this factory rig out in the rough stuff.

 | Jeep TJ CB Radio Install Jun 1, 2005 By:Alex Parker
One of the first hop ups most off roaders should, but rarely, do is the installation of good CB radio system in their rig. After having owned several jeeps, and several big bulky CB radios, I wanted a nice clean install in the new 05 Rubicon that didnt get in the way. Jeep has left us with few options when it comes to mounting a CB radio in a place thats out of the way. Cobra has come to our aid with the 75 WT SX. All the functions of the CB are right there on the mic itself. You mount a separate box else where that allows for the merging of the coax cable and power supply. So the CB can just be plugged in when you want to use it and removed when you dont. Perfect for the weekend warrior like myself. The next dilemma of setting up a clean CB system is how to mount your antenna. Tera Flex has actually come up with a cheap and effective solution for TJ and YJ owners with an antenna mount that gets sandwiched in between your rear taillight and the body. It requires only one hole to be drilled and through bolted. Even I can do that! Ill give you a walk though of how I managed to set this up on my TJ, the install took about 2 hours in total.

 | An inside look at the Mar 1, 2005 By:Alex Parker
Unless youve been living under one of the rocks the rest of us have been crawling on for the past few years, youve at least heard about the Jeep Rubicon Edition Wranglers. Myself, I had been driving my 2000 Sahara and was quite happy crawling along with the rest of the big boys after pretty heavily modifying my TJ. I had been noticing the trend as of late however, that there were several of these factory looking rigs on 31 tires keeping up with my TJ. These Rubicon owners were acting like they owned the trails right off the dealer lot. What was worse, is that they actually did.

Air down products are rather abundant in the 4 wheeling world today since it's widely known that airing down your tires can provide much greater traction in many conditions. I know that every time I go on a major rock crawling run I air down from 30 lbs of pressure to 8 lbs or lower since I run bead locked rims and can get away with such low pressures. But, airing down is usually quite the time consuming process. My size tire (35x13.5r15) takes several minutes to air down, per tire, when I use the "poor man's" air down tool (House keys, and screw drivers are always popular.) Enter the EqualAir (EA) Off Road air down kit.
