Flowmaster "Delta Flow" Series Mufflers

In the great quest for higher performance in this beloved sport of ours, it is rare to find an industry leader with a foothold that spans decades. Sure I could name a few, but I doubt many have as much history, recognition, and praise as Flowmaster.

Just say that one word, Flowmaster, and anyone listening to you begins to hear a low rumble in their head, while pictures of full-size trucks, drag racers, and rock crawling Jeeps run through their mind. Everyone knows that Flowmaster means Performance!

Flowmaster?s 15 years of history has proven that they are innovators and scientists in exhaust design. From the first VW Beetle muffler kits, to the "Hushpower" Harley mufflers, to the RV kits of today, Flowmaster has tackled just about every application.

I went to Flowmaster with the challenge of improving my performance, while not waking my neighbors with noise at night. After consulting with one of their technicians, I decided on the Delta Flow series muffler. This muffler was designed especially to deliver maximum performance while producing lower overall sound levels inside and outside the vehicle.

How did Flowmaster arrive at this design? These innovations were incorporated:

  • Tuned internal design reduces interior resonance and overall exhaust tone
  • Triple Deflector Design allows maximum scavenging and gives added torque in street applications

The Delta Flow series is built with aluminized steel for long product life, and is fully welded for added strength. The internal design was improved to reduce backpressure and achieve optimum exhaust flow. Sounds like exactly what I was looking for! I received a part number from the Flowmaster tech and ordered one up. It arrived nicely packed, and I headed over to have it installed. Twenty minutes later, I had the new Delta Flow muffler on my Jeep.

Upon starting the Jeep, it rumbled to life?no wait, I couldn?t really hear my new muffler. I got out and walked around to the rear of the Jeep and was pleasantly surprised to hear a low, deep sound. Very nice, tough-sounding, but not too loud! I drove around the block at different speeds and even inside my jeep with no carpet, the sound was very minimal, and there were no vibrations transmitted into the Jeep tub. Perfect!

I drove out to the freeway, stopping at lights, accelerating, braking, to get a feel for the performance, and I noted a decent amount of pedal peppiness. From a stop, the throttle seemed stronger, and from about 1200-2200 Rpm?s the Jeep felt very lively. I was impressed, and still am months later.

Flowmaster has, again, defined a new technology in mufflers that reinforces their position as industry leader and innovator. If you are looking for increased performance and that awesome Flowmaster tone, but on a lower level, check out the Delta Flow mufflers!
