Mounted atop the valve cover to the rear of the
engine is a bracket with three gizmos and a bunch of vacuum hoses.
These are vacuum solenoids, controlled electrically by the
computer. The first two on the left control the upstream and
downstream
Pulse Air
tubes. The one closest to the
air cleaner controls the vacuum-operated portion of the
Sol-Vac
idle speed control on the
carburetor.
