Gauge

Air Down Fast, Easy and Accurately
I ran across an add for the Slickrock Air Gauge in
the back of one of those paper magazines. You know, the ones you
have to pay for, instead of getting all the free Jeep information
here. Anyhow, it looked interesting so I gave them a call. I talked
to Don Christensen of K&D Enterprises, who makes the Slickrock
Air Gauge. Don's a nice guy and quickly gave me the full scoop on
their gauge.
I soon had one in hand and gave it the full
inspection. Overall fit and finish of the Slickrock Air Guage is
very good. It is made with brass fittings, and 24" oil resistant
hose (as an option, you can get it in any length). It has a quick
disconnect clip-on chuck and reads to 60 psi.
While the gauge is connected to the tire, you receive
continuous readings of your tire's air pressure, which is very
handy. Below the dial gauge is a T-fitting that has a bleeder
button on one side and a Schraeder stem on the other. This allows
you to air the tire up through the gauge itself. This feature is
extremely helpfull as it saves you from having to pull the gauge
off and on while filling it to the exact air pressure.
Actually, whether airing up or down, during
operation, the gauge reading will vary but by releasing either the
bleeder valve or the air hose gives an instant reading on actual
tire pressure.
The clip on feature of the Slickrock gauge is also
vary handy. It allows freedom of activity during tire airing
operations.
I think K&D Enterprises'
Slickrock Air Gauge is a great package for the cost, which is just
about the cost of a tank of gas.
