Lake Arrowhead, CA: Sanderson Racing Technologies in Suwanee, GA has developed one of the best excuses to take my doors off my Jeep ? The Door Caddy.  An avid off-road enthusiast, I often find myself removing my doors on a daily basis ? leaving them unsafely leaning against my outdoor railing.  Then, after returning home, I would replace them as they were in jeopardy of falling ? or worse ? getting some more scratches.

Sanderson Racings? Door Caddy is truly a simple, yet extremely effective device for mounting two full-size Jeep doors on a wall with zero chance of failure.  While the device is designed for use in a garage, the simplicity of the design allowed me to mount them on a wall in my build-up area under my house, as most people in the San Bernardino Mountains, including myself, do not have a garage.

At first glance, after opening the box, the well-packaged Door Caddy was impressive ? and looked easy to install.  The welds were smooth, yet very thick.  It was clear that the Door Caddy is built like a brick house.

Installing the Door Caddy

Installation of the Sanderson Racing Door Caddy was cake!  The instructions were easy to follow and there was little room for error.  Simply locate a stud and mount the Door Caddy.  While I was working in a smaller confined area, I was still able to successfully complete the installation in less than 20-minutes.  I did, however, need to use a ?? socket vs. the recommended 7/16? in the instructions for the heavy-duty lag bolts.

Once I had the Door Caddy mounted, I made my boyfriend run up the side of my house to retrieve my heavy full-size Jeep doors.  With little effort, he was able to lock them safely in place.  Had I thought about it in advance, I would have mounted the Door Caddy at least a foot lower as we had to lift the doors fairly high to mount them in place.  I would mount it at roughly mid-chest height to make negotiating the doors easier.

The Door Caddy is a great value for the money.  At a list price of $89.95, the cost is worth the insurance and piece of mind.  I am confident that my doors will remain safely off the floor and out of harms way.  I am also able to leave them off for longer periods of time as they are off my walkway railings.
