I
had a hard time deciding where to install the CB. I decided that the space at
the top of the dash stack would serve me best. I removed the center panel, and
the rubber insert, and secured the CB bracket with three nuts and bolts. I ran
the power wires down into the dash and connected them to the power taps on the
right of the fuse panel behind the glovebox. I also grounded the CB to the
ground strap removed from the stock radio. *note: I could not get my CB to work,
until I realized I needed to put a 15A fuse into space 18 on the fuse panel.
This may have been a factory mistake, I am not sure. I
mounted my antenna on the stock spare tire carrier, in the hole where the wiring
passed through for the 3rd brake light. When I am not using the antenna, I keep
it in the groove between the windshield and the dash, and when I am using it,
the angle of the spare tire carrier keeps it from hitting my hardtop when it
springs back and forth. If you are using the stock wheel for your spare, you may
have trouble getting to the spring to attach the antenna.Follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/OffRoadDotCom
