AIM THOSE LIGHTS.

Aiming your head lamps properly is important after lifting your Jeep and / or installing new lights. After installing the IPF H4 headlamps it became even more obvious that they were way out of adjust because of the flat cut off pattern of the lamps. To aim the lights shouldn't take you any more than 20 or 30 min total.

Step 1: Park your Jeep on a level surface approx 25 feet away from a wall.

Step 2: Measure and mark on the wall the horizontal center of the Jeep, and the center lines of each head lamp as measured at the jeep.

You will notice that my lights were WAY out of adjustment and were pointing into the ground. The tops of the beam should be just below the horizontal center of the lights. You should have your headlights set to LOW beam to aim them. The High Beams will automatically be adjusted.
Step 3: Using a screw driver, you can adjust the adjuster screws in or out to adjust the lamp for your needs.

When you're finished the 'hot spot' of the beam should be to the lower right quadrant of each light center. Approx 4" lower than the horizontal line and even - 4" or so to the right of the vertical lines. This keeps the light on the road but also keeps you from blinding on coming traffic.

(NOTE: You'll notice that my drivers side light - left side in photo - still isn't adjusted properly vertically. it's much lower that it should be. Turns out that adjuster is stripped and I didn't have a nut that would fit on the back to make it work.)
