WSORR: Brascho Honored By Lucas Oil

Aug. 25, 2008 By Press Release
Lucas Oil, title sponsor behind the high flying World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR), has released its latest national ad featuring champions that race and win with Lucas Oil Products.

The latest creation -- titled "Congratulations to the New 'Chairman' of the Board" -- honors WSORR professional off-road racer Kent Brascho, winner of the 2008 Forest County Potawatomi (FCP) Chairman's Cup at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway this past June.

Brascho's Lucas Oil Goodyear Chevrolet 4x4 race pickup and the FCP Chairman's Cup are featured in the ad. The Forest County Potawatomi are the title sponsor of the annual race -- the longest running off-road shootout race in the country.  Brascho was the 14th winner. The FCP is also a major partner with Lucas Oil in the World Series.

"We are delighted for Kent and that he brought home this huge win using Lucas Oil products in his Lucas Oil race machine," said Bob Patison, executive vice president, Lucas Oil Products. "We are equally happy it was a Lucas Oil racer that won our partner's prestigious Cup -- the FCP Chairman's Cup," he said.  “We thank Phil Shopodock, chairman of the FCP Executive Council, and the entire tribal community for supporting and sponsoring this great award.

"The Forest County Potawatomi, Traxxas Radio Control Cars, General Tire, E3 Spark Plugs, Super Clean, Skyjacker, BorgWarner, United Trailers, and Sunoco are all part of the high profile off-road sponsor team making the World Series of Off-Road Racing run fast," added Patison.

Brascho reigns as off-road racing’s "new Chairman of the Board" until the 2009 race for the FCP Chairman's Cup. That race will be part of the 40th anniversary season at Crandon International Raceway on Labor Day weekend.

Brascho, Pell City, Alabama, will display his considerable racing talents at the WSORR season finals at Crandon. The track hosts the 2008 BorgWarner World Championship Off-Road Races where he is considered the pre-race favorite in the annual BorgWarner Shootout. Brascho would be the third racer in history to win both the FCP Chairman’s Cup and BorgWarner Shootout in a single season.

The BorgWarner Shootout is one of a pair of Cup races at the Off-Road World Championships. Kicking off the weekend is the FCP "Decision at Sundown" PRO Light Pickup Challenge Cup Race on Friday, August 29 at 6 p.m. Closing the weekend is the Shootout -- a 10 lap romp over Crandon's 1.5-mile track for the prestigious sterling silver and 18-karat gold BorgWarner Cup. The total posted purse for the entire weekend is a massive $175,000.
