Rob MacCachren swept the field in Pro 2 this weekend at Glen Helen Raceway.

The temperatures were soaring in Southern California this past weekend, and fortunately for fans and competitors Rounds 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series were held under the lights at Glen Helen Raceway. With the season now passing the halfway mark the championship races are beginning to tighten up, and racers are gearing up for the final stretch for class titles.

Kyle LeDuc is gaining momentum after sweeping the Pro 4 class this past weekend.

Kyle LeDuc started off the season a bit slowly in comparison to his near-perfect Pro 4 season in 2015, but he’s been on a roll lately. With three podium in the past three races, including two wins, LeDuc came into the Glen Helen looking to get back into the Championship race. LeDuc kicked off the weekend with a win in class and then followed it up with another victory. Class points leader Carl Renezeder kept LeDuc honest all weekend though with two second-place finishes to keep his lead out front, but LeDuc certainly closed the gap.

Darren Hardesty earned the Pro Buggy victory at Round 9.

In Pro 2, Rob MacCachren only extended his points lead in the class with a sweep of the talented field. At Round 9, Brian Deegan finished in the runner-up spot behind MacCachren, while Myan Spaccarelli earned second at Round 10. Doug Mittag showed great consistency all weekend with two third-place finishes.

In Pro Lite, Ryan Beat has a solid weekend. Beat earned the victory at Round 9, which he followed up with a second-place finish at Round 10. Brandon Arthur, who was in second place in the standings heading into the weekend, earned the victory at Round 10, with class points leader Jerett Brooks rounding out the podium in third.

Brandon Arthur earned the Pro Lite victory at Round 10.

The title race in Pro Buggy is still pretty wide open at this point in the season. Darren Hardesty earned the win at Round 9, holding off Bud Ward and Taylor Atchison in second and third, respectively. At Round 10, the podium was all fresh faces not seen the round before, as Keaton Swane earned the win after holding off Sammy Ehrenberg and Jason Bates.

The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series will return again next month in Sparks, Nevada, and after that only a few races remain in the 2016 season. Check back with Off-Road.com for more coverage of LOORRS action throughout the remainder of the season.
