Phoenix, Arizona — In his debut with the newly launched LaRoza Racing truck team, off road racer Austin Robison of Chandler, Arizona joined team owner Steve LaRoza of Tracy, California to take a hard fought win in the 7300 Stock Production Mini Truck class of the Blue Water Resort and Casino Parker 425 the weekend of February 4th and 5th.  The race featured three laps of a 135-mile off road loop in the Arizona desert just outside the city of Parker, and offered some of the roughest terrain encountered in the five-race Best in the Desert series schedule.

Robison and LaRoza split driving duties, with LaRoza starting the event and Robison taking the seat of the #7313 Ford / BF Goodrich / LaRoza Construction backed Ford Ranger FX4 for the second of three laps.  LaRoza's daughter Allison rode right seat for much of the event to gain experience in off road driving and navigation technique.

Although happy with the results of the event, veteran racer Robison felt that with continued development of the fledging effort, higher placed overall finishes could be a future goal for the team.

"I have to thank Steve (LaRoza) for giving me this opportunity," remarked Robison shortly after the event.  "The truck was really reliable over the race, and the BFG tires were terrific through a lot of the rough terrain.  We picked up a flat on the second lap, which doesn't happen often with the Baja T/A, but we were still able to get a class win out of it, which is good.  I'm happy to be able to do this well for our first time out in this truck, and I think there is some good potential for this LaRoza race team as the season goes on."
